I thought I ran well but was disappointed in my time as it was hot which I dont run well in, probably more uphill and I had trouble with footing in rutted trail and sprinkler mudholes around Sugarhouse Park. Was 67th of 178 total runners and 5th in age group. Did a little warmup and ran back to car.

Got almost 30 miles in this week, alot for me. Just cant seem to run each day with work schedule and sons sports schedule

Michael,

The cross-country camp I went to was for the Judge Cross-country team, but they let a few kids from East come to. I don't know of any camps for kids, the one BYU offers is for 12-18, but I don't know of any others.

This course was much slower than the others. A 16:00 5 K runner on average was about 40 seconds slower than Heart of Holladay. So for you this is probably 1:10 slower. Also, you ran 9 miles Thursday with an upset stomach. The run would have dumped a good portion of your glycogen, and I imagine the upset stomach kept you from either eating or at least absorbing the replenishment properly. Also if you add a stressful week on top of that, your legs would not have had much in the race. This is OK, running on empty legs can be good training. This will make you stronger in the long run.
